Brother ink is optimised for every Brother inkjet Multi-Function Centre (MFC), using a predetermined ink formula to calculate the mixture needed to create vibrant colours.

Specially Formulated Ink for Smooth Printing

Brother ink is specially formulated to achieve the right fluidity to flow through critical points of the print head with ease.
This ensures a balanced distribution of ink on the page, resulting in a more optimal balance of colours.

Anti-smear and Anti-clog

To prevent smearing, Brother ink penetrates and dries on the paper quickly to match the high print speeds of Brother MFCs.
This ensures the ink will dry completely between page prints for clean and smudge-free printouts every time.
Brother Ink also contains carefully selected chemicals to prevent clogging of the print head for smoother operation, reliability and durability of your Brother machine.

Inkjet Printing Process

The Brother print head has four inkjet elements each for one of the 4 inkjet colours. These elements contain microscopic nozzles for delivering the ink.
The print head moves back and forth across the paper creating the image.
Ink is sprayed through these nozzles in the print head. An electric charge is used to form the droplets as they are sprayed.
Gears and rollers advance the paper with exact precision each time - ready for the next pass of the print head.
On print completion the paper is ejected.

How capillary tube printing technology works

Unlike other models in the market, Brother’s new multi-function range features revolutionary technology that eliminates the need for ink cartridges to be situated above the print head. Instead, cartridges are located separately and ink distributed via tubes direct to the print head for printing.

Compact lower profile design

As the ink tanks are no longer attached to the print head, Brother’s MFC can be built more compact with a lower profile and designed with sleek lines to suit today's modern home and office environment.

Low power consumption

Without the print head carriage having to carry heavy and bulky ink tanks, it is now possible to significantly reduce power consumption, saving the environment and money.

Quieter printing

Due to the lighter weight of the print head, there is less mechanical movement within our MFC creating less vibration, resulting in smoother and quieter print operation.

Increased reliability

With less weight on the print head, there is less movement and vibration, subsequently reduces wearing on the machine components.

Separate Ink Cartridges That Save You Money

When one colour runs out, you only have to replace the cartridge for that colour. Although the initial purchase price of any machine is important, it is also a good idea to check that your machine is cost-effective to run over the long term. With economy in mind, all machines in our colour MFC range have separate colour ink cartridges and long life print heads. So, when one colour runs out, only that colour needs to be replaced rather than the complete set of colours.

Furthermore, the ink cartridges are replaced separately to the print head, for great economy and reliability.
